It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Carlson of Lacombe, AB announce her passing on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the age of 74 years. Linda departed peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by those her loved her most.
Linda is survived by her mother, Nancie Dimmick; her two daughters, Lisa (Gary), and Jennifer (Vern); her grandchildren, Krechenna (Nick), Tristen (Robyn), Amanda (Max); and three great grandchildren, Alice, Mila and Russell. Also mourning her passing are her brother; nieces & nephews; best friends, Heather & Bernie; and numerous family and friends. Linda was predeceased by her father, Russ Dimmick.
Linda was born in England and moved to Saskatchewan, Canada with her family at the age of eight. The family moved to Vernon, BC when Linda was a teenager, where she graduated in 1969. Later that year, she married Earl Carlson. Lisa was born in 1971, followed by Jennifer in 1973. They moved to Atlin, BC in 1988. In spite of the injuries from a car accident in 1989, Linda overcame those complications to enjoy sewing, painting, acting in the local theatre and numerous other hobbies.
Linda and Earl parted ways in 2005, and Linda moved to Sylvan Lake, AB to be near her daughter, Lisa. She later moved to Blackfalds, and then Lacombe, where she had a close group of friends with whom she loved to shop for craft supplies, lunch at A&W, crafting, card making and quilting. Linda will be greatly missed by all her family, her friends and her posse.
We would like to thank the many people who helped and assisted in Linda’s care during the last weeks of her life.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
