Alan Kay Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Alexander Kay at the Red Deer Hospice. Alan went home to be with his Heavenly Father on February 26, 2026.

Alan was born April 18, 1953 in Regina, Saskatchewan. The family lived in Saskatchewan before moving to Lacombe in 1969. Where Al finished his schooling. Al had a few different jobs throughout his life. He moved to Lethbridge and worked for Haul All for 12 years. Al then moved back to Lacombe and worked for Evraz until his retirement. Al’s enjoyment was his 1980 Berlinetta Camaro.  He loved going to car shows and showing off his car.

Alan is survived by his mother, Alma Kay; brother, Dale (Debbie) Kay and their 3 children and families; brother, Brian Kay; sister, Cheryl Kay and her 3 children and families. Alan was predeceased by his father, David Kay of Lacombe.

The family deeply appreciates the many talented and kind medical staff who cared for Alan.  Special thanks to the staff at the Red Deer Hospice. They made a very difficult time more bearable for the family.

Alan loved the Lord Jesus. He demonstrated Christ’s love to all who knew him. Nehemiah 8:10 “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Romans 8: 38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

There will be a Celebration of Life for Alan on March 28th, 2026 at the Lacombe Legion Hall from 2 to 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, if desired donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, reddeerhospice.com
